The waiting game

Is it a fun game? I haven't decided yet. On the plus side, I got lots of sleep this weekend, unfortunately, not during the night. Josh actually came in to ask me if I was hibernating. I guess I shouldn't be so anxious, my actual due date isn't until Saturday.

Ryleigh and I are going to see Earth today, perfect for a rainy day.

Doctor visit update

I had my 39 week check up today. I was hoping I wouldn't have this appointment and I'm REALLY hoping I won't have my next week appointment either! Just a few changes, I am dilated to 3 now and she ended up "stripping membranes". What this is basically is going over my cervix and almost separating my amniotic sac from the cervix. This may put me into labor in the next couple of days....we'll see if it works. She says if I'm still prego next week, she'll set a date to induce. Keep your fingers crossed that Carter will be here before then!

The family seems to be healing okay also. Josh's cankle is looking better and less bruised, I haven't noticed him limping as much. Ryleigh went to school today, but didn't want to talk about her chin injury with anyone. She is very self conscious about it, even though it's covered by a band aid. We'll get them checked out again today and then get the stitches out next week. I'm hoping this is the end of injuries in the Smith household for a while.

The day from.......

A sprained ankle and 5 stitches later and the day was finally over! It actually started Monday night when Josh hurt his ankle sliding at softball. This is becoming an every other week thing, (getting hurt sliding at ball) so Mama (me) is getting a little bit tired of the softball injuries and have put a "No Sliding Rule" in effect. Tuesday I took Ry to school and spent the morning at the doctor with Josh, thankfully it wasn't broken, but he needed to come back in the afternoon and get an x ray and boot. So I'm at school picking up Ryleigh and to make a long story short, she was not listening to me and ran from me, fell onto a planter in one of the offices and busted her chin open. It was NASTY. I am usually pretty good with injuries and things but when I saw under her chin I couldn't look at it again. She was bleeding everywhere, from her mouth too and luckily her bottom teeth weren't busted out. So I called Josh who is close at the doctors office for his foot and had him meet us at the ER. In the meantime, Ryleigh is freaking out, LOSING her mind screaming in the backseat that she doesn't want to go to the hospital and get stitches. So we get there and the wait is long and the ER is nasty. We left there and ended up going to CareNow and walked right in, they were great there and it was done in about 20 minutes. I had to wait outside, I could not emotionally handle it, and I'm SOOO thankful Josh did a good job with the situation. Usually when Ry is hurt I am calming him down more than her, but he was my rock yesterday, even with his limp. Happy the day is over? Um , Yes. Everyone seems okay now. Stitches will come out in about a week.

This picture (done by Kym of course http://www.portraitsbykym.com/) is in the Archiver's stores. We don't have any stores down here to see it so Molly sent me a picture of it. We're famous!

Six Flags

Saturday we spent the day at Six Flags. I really thought that with all of the standing around and walking, that Carter might come sooner but no way. We were there for almost 8 hours, but well worth it, Ryleigh had a blast with her new Texas friends. Their favorite ride was the teacup looking one where you spin around and around. I thought the 3 were going to get off of the ride throwing up but no, they were all laughing. I could ride NOTHING, not even the mini ferris wheel in Loony Toon Land. Oh well, we ended up getting season passes so we can come back all summer.

Ry and her first "pink thing"

Ryleigh went next door to play with her friend Sam and they were dressed the same!

101

This is my 101st post. Is that supposed to be a milestone? Anyway, I went to the doctor today for my weekly check and I am dilated to 2. It could be anytime now.....but I was dilated with Ryleigh for a couple of weeks before she arrived so we'll see. My doctor asked me if I wanted to schedule something for next week, meaning induction, but I declined. Am I crazy?! I am so uncomfortable and tired and am not sleeping well, but I just think I should leave him alone until he's ready to meet us. We're going to Six Flags with some friends on Saturday so maybe all of the walking will do the trick, or I could just have incredibly sore legs and feet on Sunday.

On another super duper happy note, I'm getting my house cleaned tomorrow!!! YIPEE! For some reason I have not had any "nesting" going here, nor do I have the desire to clean at all. So I guess I need some help.

Maternity Pictures

Group photo minus Jinx the cat.

I almost didn't get my maternity pictures done, I am SO glad with some nudging that I did! Kym does such an awesome job, we are so lucky to have her! www.portraitsbykym.com
It was fun, unfortunately we did them on a weekday so Josh wasn't able to join us, maybe the next baby;)

These aren't the exact photos I ordered but I just wanted to share a few. I can't wait until we get Carter and Ryleigh's done!

Baby Shower with ProStaff

Josh and I were blessed again with another baby shower. His co workers had a shower for us last Friday. It was fun to have Josh there and again we received so many cute things. Thanks to everyone who participated and hosted, it was a great time. I have to pay it forward now and will hopefully get to be involved in the next baby shower.
Baby bump at 37 weeks. Ry took the picture.
ProStaff shower at La Madeline...yum!
How cute is this cake?! It was awesome, had a raspberry layer inside.

27 Days...

Really?! 27 days until Carter arrives? The thought freaks me out and brings so much excitement at the same time. Josh and I are ready for this little guy to bless our lives. And Ryleigh couldn't be more anxious for him, although I have to wonder what she really thinks is going to happen when he gets here. I have been trying to prep her and let her know that it won't be all about her all of the time and she has to be a big girl and helper for us. We'll see after a few months if she's still as excited about him!

My doctor's appointment on Wednesday was uneventful as usual. I start going every week now. She did check me and I am not dilated at all, a good thing, and he is defiantly head down, which I have thought for a couple of weeks now, but she confirmed it. I go back next Friday, we'll see if anything has changed then. So now it's the waiting game. I keep wondering if my labor will start out the same as it did with Ryleigh. I have had a few contractions here and there but nothing regular. I'm thinking about 2 weeks left. We'll see.....
