Me and Ry's Date

Monday we decided that we needed a mommy and Ryleigh date to the Dallas Arboretum. We packed up a picnic, which was the most exciting part for her, and drove across town to unfamiliar territory. We were a little bit chilly for the most part but it was awesome. So beautiful right off of White Rock Lake. They had all of these little storybook houses for the kids to play in that told a story, many I had never heard of, but most were cute. We must have walked around the place for 4 hours, I am truly surprised that it kept her attention for so long. There were 4 brides there throughout the day taking pictures, which I think was Ry's favorite part. She would just stop and stare and say, "She looks so beautiful!" She also had her first encounter with the Red Hat Society. They were a crazy bunch of ladies, laughing at everything. It was a fun day, our days together just the 2 of us are so numbered that I have been trying to spend as much special time with her as I can. It won't be long before her brother is here....which means my ribs won't be so bruised! I have an appointment tomorrow so we'll see if anything interesting will come of it.

Grandma Tootsie

Here is a picture of 4 generations taken last time we were in South Dakota. My Grandma Tootsie passed away on Sunday at the age of 95. She always told everyone that she was in great health, except for her vision and hearing. She walked a mile at the assisted living facility she lived at every day. That's more than a many people my age walk! I know she's in a better place now, with my Grandpa, and I'm thankful for the memories I have to hold on to. Love you Grandma Tootsie!

T Ball!

Last week Ryleigh started TBall. She is one of 2 girls on the Raptors. It is just about the cutest thing you will ever see. 3 and 4 year olds trying to learn the basics of baseball is so funny. Josh volunteered to be an assistant coach so Ry is even more excited about it. Grandpa told her that he was my coach in softball so she wanted her daddy to be her coach too. The first practice she wasn't too thrilled that the shirts were blue (very important) or that she had to wear a hat (looking beautiful is above everything else right?!) She actually does pretty well at this new game, she can throw AND hit. I think she is also growing out of what we call her Phoebe run.

The first game was so much fun, I am loving it! Getting to watch Ry and Josh together is so awesome!

Grandma got her a pink glove and bat, she's ready for her first practice

Look at that stance!

Go Raptors!

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend was Josh's cousin Matt's wedding. We spent the weekend about 2 hours north of us in small country town, USA. Ryleigh was one of the flower girls and Josh was a groomsman. Ryleigh LOVES to dress pretty and did an awesome job at the wedding, only a little bit of fidgeting during the wedding. It was fun for me to see my family involved in such a special day for the Schultz/Williams families. Everything was so perfect, it was beautiful! Josh said to me several times that we need to start planning our renewal of vows ceremony. I would like to wear my real wedding dress sometime!

Monday we finished up shopping for Carter. There are so many more new cool things for babies since the last one I had 4 and a half years ago! It was fun shopping with my mom and Ryleigh, I feel like I'm set but I know there will be things that I completely forgot about. Fortunately the weather was beautiful for my mom's visit and turned yucky when she left on Tuesday. So we were able to grill out and play outside. I was very proud of myself for not breaking down and crying until after I drove away at the airport. I guess it's a little bit easier knowing she and my dad will be back in May.

Now we are off to Sherman for the weekend for Matt and Ali's wedding. Josh and Ryleigh are both in the wedding and we get to stay in a hotel for the weekend so Ry is excited. Oh, and I experienced my first bout of Braxton Hicks the other night. I never had thsese with Ryleigh, and it makes the fact that there will be a baby here in 7 weeks more real.....Ahhh, I need to catch up on sleep now!

Baby Shower

Sunday Jess and Jeanne threw Carter and I a baby shower. I was so happy my mom was able to be there. She flew in Friday to watch Ryleigh so it worked out perfectly! I had a great time, it was great that my mom could meet everyone that she didn't know but hears about in Texas. Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate this special time with us, I had so much fun!

Well Carter did NOT like flying. He was crazy the entire flight but everything else went smoothly, besides the dirtball cab driver charging me at least double what the fare should have been. Josh and I had a great time, it was so much fun to just be together, child free, for a few days. On Thursday night we went to see the Beatles Love at the Mirage. It was SO good, especially if you are a Beatles fan! Friday Josh's company rented out a night club for a few hours for dinner and drinks, the rest of the night was spent gambling. It was a short trip but well worth it!
We were 3rd row, but no pictures inside.
Ready for dinner Thursday night with Josh's DeSoto girls. Probably the best steak I've ever had.

Viva Las Vegas

We're off to Vegas this morning! Josh got us tickets to see the Beatles "Love" show tonight. I cannot wait for it. I've been to Vegas a couple of times, but I've never been to a show. This short trip is much needed, although I have a feeling there won't be much R and R. I can already hear my slot machine....dingdingdingdingdingdingdingdingdingding..........

Can I push pause?

With everything going on this month, I feel like things are flying past me and our family of 3 will soon be 4. I am trying to enjoy every moment with Ryleigh, knowing that soon it won't just be her and I during the day.
Tomorrow I have my 31 week checkup, I'm sure everything will be fine. I will pick up my paperwork from the doctor in case it's needed when we go to Vegas on Thursday. What fun that would be, to have a baby in Sin City. The thought is scary. Luckily, I am only going for 2 days but will miss out on the award ceremony on Saturday. My mom will be here Friday and Sunday is my baby shower. I am so ready for a visit from my mom so I am excited!
Ryleigh got her second haircut on Friday, (first in a salon,) she insisted that they did not wash her hair so it was no big deal. The dry ends needed to be cut off for her trip down the isle as flower girl in Matt and Ali's wedding in less than 2 weeks! Daddy is in the wedding too so it will be fun to see them both taking part in their special day.
I will post some Vegas pictures when I get back next week. Hopefully I'll come back with more money than I left with!!
