The Week in Review...

Let's start with Ryleigh's birthday weekend of celebrations. Friday night we went for the opening of High School Musical 3, which was awesome by the way. Yes, I am being serious. I will probably take Ryleigh to see it again soon.

Saturday was Ry's birthday party. It was a small turnout, which ended up being so much better and relaxed. It was the most beautiful day to be outside. We went to Country Critters Farm where the kids had a ton of fun, they got to play on the playground, the bounce house, ride ponies, brush the goats and lamb, train ride, hay ride, pick out and decorate pumpkins, storyteller, and don't forget cake! It was a blast. I think all of the kiddos enjoyed it.

Sunday was Ryleighs actual birthday and she got to go to her first Cowboys game. Awesome day again, Cowboys won.

Monday brought her to the doctor, has a sinus infection.

Wednesday brought her back to the doctor for her 4 year well check. They did hearing and vision tests and she had shots and drew blood which was extremely traumatic. I am hearing from lots of friends that NONE of their kids had blood drawn. I really feel like her doctor goes way above and beyond doing things that aren't necessary. Poor Ryleigh has been our "guinnea pig" and we have learned so much from all of her sicknesses. The most important lesson that I have learned is that doctors do not know my kid better than I do, I used to go along with whatever they would say is what is right for my child. Not anymore!

And tonight, Halloween. Tinkerbell is all ready to go door to door and I am ready to help her eat her candy! Here are some pictures from the week.

Family Pictures

Sunday we drove to McKinney to have our annual family/Ryleigh's birthday pictures done by the best photographer ever, . What a beautiful day, we decided to do pics outside. Love this idea. It was so much fun. Kym took so many great pictures I need help picking them out! The password is SMITH, case sensitive.

Let me know which ones I should pick!

After pictures we stayed to celebrate Ellaina's 2nd birthday with cake and ice cream. YUM!

Word to the wise

I have compiled a list of things that you should NEVER say to a pregnant person. This list may or may not include things that have been said to me.

1. "You should really start watching what you eat, it's going to catch up with you."
2. "Get over it."
3. "I know you wanted [insert food craving], but I got this instead."
4. "I think I have pregnancy sympathy because I am feeling really tired and sick too."
5. "[Insert name], that's an interesting choice, I like [insert name] better."

You've been warned! Watch out for flying objects if you choose to ignore these suggestions.

Crazy Baby!

We had a sono today and I cannot believe how much this baby was moving around. The doctor could barely get measurements because it was spinning around and waving it's arms and legs like a little nut. (Which of course leads me to believe it's a boy.) It amazes me to think that by next week it will be completely developed and just needs to grow for another 6 or so months. The weird alien looking thing in the bubble to the left is what the baby looks like so far.
Ryleigh was able to come in and see also, which she was thrilled about! We are ecstatic everything is going okay.

Texas State Fair

Saturday we decided to take a trip to the Texas State Fair. Yes, we knew it was the Texas/OU game but we thought it would be fun to people watch and see all of the crazy college kids. (Wow, I sound old.) So we planned on taking the train down to Dallas to avoid finding and paying for parking. This was a fun little adventure in itself, especially with a jogger. Word to the wise, always make sure you look at the times the train goes home, not just there. We had the pleasure of sitting at the train/bus stop for an hour and a half. And we only saw 3 crackheads, and I'm NOT exaggerating or making that up. This crazy woman was screaming and yelling at people for no apparent reason. Super fun when you have a young child in that area in the dark. Thankfully, there were lots of people there.
So back to the actual fair. It is the perfect place for a prego to go. I was able to "graze" all day and eat all of the fried food that looked good to me. These days I cannot eat an entire meal, just a little at a time, so the 3 of us split everything. Yum. Although I have to say, the MN State Fair has better food. Sorry, but it does. Texas has a lot of the same stuff over and over, where at the MN, you can find things like strawberry or banana and chocolate filled crepes and not feel like you're clogging an artery while your stuffing your face. It's semi-healthy right, fruit?!

Ryleigh had fun, she rode some rides that made me sick looking at them and had her face painted. She loves anything to do with makeup, so this was great. And I'm glad she loved it cause who pays $8 for a stinking face painting?

So I broke down and had my house cleaned today and I am so freaking happy! I love having a clean house and not having to lift a finger. What they did in 3 hours would have taken me at least 3 weeks at the rate I move these days. I think this might be a good idea from now on!

So we're home from our trip to South Dakota/Minnesota. I have to say I am actually really happy to be home and to not have any trips......until Thanksgiving when we'll be driving to Colorado. Why is it that driving and sitting in a car all day make a person so tired? I'm still not caught up on sleep from the weekend. I was the sober cab for my girlfriends this weekend, which was exhausting in itself. Josh was in a wedding but I decided to skip out on that and attend my 10 year high school reunion. We were only in MN for 2 days but Ryleigh was able to spend the weekend with Grandma and her cousins so that's always great.

I just can't wait until I have a few ounces of energy returning to my growing body. I'd like to use the "you get bigger with your second pregnancy" excuse, but I know it's my daily diet of french fries, chicken strips and ice cream. Oh, and yesterday I had my first barfing experience at work. Puking in public bathrooms is SUPER fun in case anyone wants to try it out.
