On a postive note....

I love Half-Priced Book Store. I found a book for $3 that I think will change the dynamics of my relationship with Ry. It's called Positive Discipline and I found out within the first few pages that her acting out is pretty much my fault. I doing all of the things I shouldn't be doing! Great news huh? So, I started working on some things yesterday and hopefully soon we will be doing awesome!

Another thing to share with all of the mama's out there. Great website www.mamasource.com Check it out!

Am I mean?!

Ryleigh's daddy read my last posts and said that they were kinda mean. So, here is a disclaimer.

If you......

(a) are easily offended

(b)don't have a sense of humor

(c) don't get my sense of humor

(d) think I'm mean

then you should definitely not read this blog! Have a wonderful weekend!

PS. Congrats to my Aunt Mari!

Coincidence? I think not!

Have I mentioned The Wizard of Oz is Ryleigh's favorite movie?

The week of Blech....

So today, yesterday, and really all of this week I have had to remind myself over and over why I stay at home. I know, I wouldn't ask for anything else in the world, but this week my patience has been tried and I've been told one too many times, " I want to kick you in the head!" Why my sweet, innocent, little 3 year old would say such a thing to her mother is beyond me. And where did she hear "kick you in the head"? I am hoping this will subside rather than get worse because I can only imagine what she will be saying in 10 years. I would now like to give a shout-out to Jeanne for babysitting on Saturday so Josh and I can go see the Twinkies. Josh will be happy to know I am not making a circle me Bert sign this year because I'm never on TV and the signs are really big to carry around.
Can you imagine this sweet thing with an attitude?!
Thanks to Dale for this pic!

Termites make me crabby. They are expensive.

Eggs being thrown at my car also make me crabby.

Little girls who's name rhymes with Mylie with big attitudes for 2 days also makes me crabby.

So there you go, that about sums up my Sunday.

Let's Paint the bathroom!

Why not have a painting/margarita party on a Friday night? So that's what we did. I decided I wanted to paint Ryleigh's bathroom. Blue. Major change from the neutral color it was. Here it is..

Hello floating head

Josh says margaritas and Courtney painting do not go well together

I know, it's really Blue!

On another note, I am so excited for the Taste of Addison, The Black Crowes will be headlining. I LOVE them! I am trying to convice Josh we need to go see them in November in New York. We'll see.

So we are back, had a great time, and I have had the entire week off to spend with Ryleigh. I am SO sad this is our last day together, just me and her, even though we've been going from one appointment to the next. Yesterday we had lunch together at Mi Cocina and walked around Southlake towncenter. She is a shopper to the core. She wanted to go into every store and look around.

Mexico was so much fun for the most part, I miss everyone in MN so much. I am so happy we were able to be there for Tracy and Jason's big day. But I have to say the best part about going on vacation is coming home to family. I felt like Ryleigh grew up so much in a week, I know, it's dumb but I do! She is so big and had a great time being spoiled by everyone (she had 7 new pairs of shoes when we got home) and she loves being with her family. We are lucky to have them here for us.

So, Ryleigh was fine all week until mom and dad got home and Monday night she fell into a bed frame and scratched up her eye, (not her eyeball, just below her eye). Then Tuesday night she fell off of her slide in the backyard onto the concrete, unfortunatly, she landed on her nose. So, she has a scratched up nose that is totally black and blue and it looks like I slapped her around a little bit. We went to the doctor and then went for x rays and yipee it's not broken. They would have had to straighten it out if it was broken, which I absolutely could NOT handle. Poor baby.

Have a great weekend! Shout out Bob!
