Ryleigh's in love with a rockstar

Last night Ryleigh and I went up to J. Gilligans to meet Josh's mom and stepdad and some other friends for dinner. They have bands playing on Friday and Saturday, but usually not until later. Well last night there was a guy playing guitar and singing with a bongo player and violin player.....and Jacob the little boy around 3 I would guess "playing" his guitar and singing with his daddy. It was the cutest thing ever. Jacob had on a hat and shirt to match his daddy exactly and copied everything his daddy did. So anyway the second Ryleigh saw Jacob it was love at first sight. She could not keep her eyes off of him, clapping for him after each song saying, "Whoo Hoo Jacob!" I am not even kidding. So when the band took their first break I asked her if she wanted to go say hello to him. Of course she did. So here is the conversation that took place between the toddlers.

Ryleigh: Hi what's your name?
Jacob: Jacob. What's your name?
Ryleigh: Ryleigh. What's in your hand?
Jacob: A pick. It's what I play my guitar with.
Ryleigh: Oh.

It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Not to mention everyone it the bar was watching them and giggling cause it was so cute.

On another note, I am so ready for our trip to Mexico and for it to be warm enough to swim in our pool. I am having pool withdrawls. Bring on the sun!!!!

Babies Everywhere!

I have got a bad case of baby fever. I have never experienced this before, Ryleigh was a wonderful surprise to Josh and I. I swear, everywhere I go, there are pregnant women and babies. We think it's about that time to think about another addition to our family, but not before Mexico of course. Ryleigh will be almost 5 when another comes along and she really wants a baby brother or sister. We'll see what happens...........oh, did I mention I have a baby shower to go to tomorrow?! What do you think, is it time for another Smith?!

Check out my slide I added at the bottom of the page.

Today is a sad, sad day.

I'm sure you're wondering why today is so sad. It's because my next door neighbors are moving back to Illinois. It's a bummer for me and Ryleigh especially because Chrissy is also a stay at home mama and Jaxson and RyRy (as Jaxson calls her) have become good buddies too. We had our "Last Supper" together last night at El Chico, until next time, which who knows when that will be. But I hope they have a great move home and I am grateful to have really great new people in our lives.

We have a new scanner, printer, copier thingy and I am so tempted to scan really old pictures and put them up here. I will have to play around with it to see how to do it. Thanks Ralph and Debbie!

Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow everyone! I get to go on a date, I am so excited, even though I have no idea what we're doing. All I know is that it will be kid free!

Makena and Ryleigh. BFF.

The End Result: Floor Remodel

Okay it's done and here are the pics. I think I'll do a before and after so you can really see the difference. It looks awesome, I love it! I encourage everyone to come see what a great job he did, even if it means coming from MN. It's worth it, I swear! (And Josh and I want visitors!) I am getting a little bit tired of begging people to come see me. I guess I will have to take some pictures of the pool...maybe that will help.

So what do you think? Is anybody out there? Let your voice be heard! Time for Lost. Good night.

Day 2 of the floors...

I am not really sure how people do huge remodeling projects in their home. It is very hard to live without a kitchen. I had to toast some Ego's this morning in my bathroom. Ewww. It's a good thing I quit drinking coffee. That would be a task in itself. I am so tired from working in Grapevine at the girls house. 11 hour days are not my cup of tea, and that doesn't include the half an hour drive each way. If I whine a bit more, will someone out there please feel sorry for me? Please?!

Here you go Jeanne...

Here are a couple of pictures of the floor remodel day 1. The kitchen is about half way finished and I love it already. I am really excited to see the finished product. Hopefully tomorrow some of the laminate flooring will be done. Nite nite time for me.

And so it begins.......

What begins, you ask? The remodel of our floors. By far the messiest thing ever. We are ripping out all of the tile and carpet in the kitchen and living room. The tile is WHITE. If anyone out there is thinking of getting this color of tile put anywhere, think again! That is, if you have kids or dogs. Josh did most of the work, but I helped where I could. We are exhausted! Not having access to the kitchen and living room is a little bit difficult, especially when I have the kiddos here. Luckily, I will be at their house Tuesday through Friday so we won't have to deal with the mess. Tomorrow we'll play outside, it's going to be about 80! So, here are some before and after demolition pictures. I will post more throughout the week with the progress.

Pulling up tack strips from carpet.

A little dust anyone?

Working hard.

I hate Texas today

I want to come home today. I know it's freezing in MN, but it's not that warm here either. Thank God it's Friday. Hopefully tomorrow I will like it here again. Today, not so much.
